Western Illinois University has been ranked No. 15 in the Sporting News magazine's Football Championship Subdivision Top 25 poll, and is predicted to finish fourth in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

One of the great things about college football is trying to decide which conference is the toughest because it changes on a yearly basis, depending on what publication is doing the writing. 

Many years, it has been between the Southeastern Conference and the Big Ten - and that dates to the 1970s, when rivalries developed between coaches like Paul "Bear" Bryant at Alabama, Woody Hayes at Ohio State and Bo Schembechler at Michigan.
